Nure Onna: Snake Woman

It’s time for another female monster post over at Part-Time Monster! Today I talk about the origins and deceptions of Nure Onna, Snake Woman of Kyushu and coastal areas.

  1. Enjoyed the intro story very much ๐Ÿ™‚

Personally, though, I think it ended nicely at the point where the tail was described flowing into the depths. For me, it was one paragraph too long in the end, although I understand the need for the ‘death description’ for the article.

    Good stuff as always!

    1. I agree with you, Crispian. I personally would have ended it with the tail, but the method of murder needed to be included. Good eye! And thanks for critiquing me (for real!) It’s always appreciated. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I went back and read the original, and can see why you find it so fascinating to research and write about these monsters of the past. It’s interesting that throughout the ages in every culture, people have created monsters. I think I like these old ones better than the monsters of today!
