  1. Interesting how she covers the whole spectrum from benign to malevolent. The middle illustration in your article is particularly beautiful – so melancholy. Also enjoyed the zapping cockroaches though it wouldn’t tempt me to buy!

    1. Hahaha, yeah, that commercial is fun to watch. But I’m not sure I want to nitrogen up bugs in my house. ๐Ÿ˜›

  2. I actually heard of this monster. A couple years ago a friend had asked me about a winter anthology and contributing a story so I plotted one out, but nothing came of it and I lost the motivation to write because I had plotted the story (which is how I found out I am a complete panster!)

PS: I got your post card in the mail. Too cute! Thanks.

    1. Hope you did too, Jeff! Is “Monstress” a novel or a comic? ๐Ÿ™‚ Sounds cool.

      1. It’s a comic. A new one. Only two issues out so far. Just read the second one this morning.

  4. I enjoyed the story. And I’m still laughing over the commercial.

    1. Thanks, Lori. Sorry I’m so late getting back to you! Still trying to get my blogging groove back. ๐Ÿ™‚ Yeah, I love Japanese commercials. I think U.S. advertisers could take a few clues. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      1. Oh, Heavens, don’t worry about that. I don’t get to half the places I should in a timely manner. I definitely agree about the advertising. So many of the U.S. commercials are boring or idiotic or both.

  5. Alex, I found this site accidentally (doing the A-Z blog challenge & you might have done it last year?) and fell in love with it. Your writing is beautiful, and offers so much. Japanese culture to fiction to writing & submitting & more. Love it all. Thanks for sharing!
