100 Posts & 1,000 Followers Today!

That’s right! Somehow, miraculously, my hundredth post has serendipitously coincided with my blog breaking one thousand followers. Imagine that!

I feel like I need to do something extra special for such an achievement. So I’ve decided to hold a giveaway. The rules are simple: if you comment on this post, you qualify. Comments must be made before April 5th, after which I’ll draw lots for the winners.

What am I giving away?

GRAND PRIZE: “COMPLETE LAYOUT PACKAGE” for Fiction from Country Mouse Design!

1st Place: ANY book of your choosing on Amazon, under $25
2nd Place: ANY book of your choosing on Amazon, under $15
3rd Place: ANY ebook of your choosing on Amazon, under $7

Again, the only rules are that you have to comment here. Prizes for 1st and 2nd place can be in any format: I will pay all shipping costs for the 1st and 2nd prizes (within the continental U.S.), though I am not excluding non-U.S. residents from playing. Depending on the cost of shipping, I may still cover the costs!

For the Grand Prize, I am offering a full print and ebook layout package for any author needing it (if you don’t need it, you’ll get $35 Amazon gift card instead). This layout includes all general layouts for Amazon, and print publication, and I will throw in unique chapter titles for ebook & print versions from the a la carte menu on my book design website. This is a $100 package, which I am offering for FREE! All you have to do is comment. πŸ™‚

You’ll notice that I’m not pushing any of my published works with this giveaway. The purpose of this giveaway is to celebrate all of the support and encouragement my followers have given me–I’m not here to do anything other than show that in the most genuine way I know how.

That’s why I want to let YOU choose what you want. I know we all have book wishlists a mile long, and sometimes, we just can’t justify that purchase. This giveaway is all about bringing you the same sort of happiness you’ve brought me. So make sure you leave a comment here, and start deciding which books you would most like to have join your literal or figurative shelves (or what manuscript you might want to have freshened up).

Thank you all!

Congratulations! You have a fantastic blog here and I’m not surprised it’s been so successful. The fact that you are giving away these prizes to supporters shows a truly generous spirit. You don’t need to include me in the drawing. I just wanted to give you a thumbs-up. It will be fun to see some other lucky and deserving reader win your wonderful prizes.

Thank you so much, Deborah. It means a lot coming from you. ^-^ By nature, I really love giving gifts more than getting them… It makes me happy to make others happy, and I really am touched by all of the support I’ve gotten here. ❀

Thank you Jeff! Unfortunately, I’m in Japan, and books are actual still cheap here, haha (bookstore chains where ‘used’ books are only a dollar, practically on every block).

If you want to donate your prize (should you win) to a local school, of course I can do that too. πŸ˜‰

I would have sworn I did this…but…There is serendipity here! I am close to returning the an active writing status. Hopefully, I have gathered enough mentally to tell a story. You are a constant inspiration

That and comment notification, haha. (Kidding.) I think you can see your stats if you use Google Analytics… Maybe not in the full detail WP allows, but at least you would get some stats that way.

I can see my followers, and I can look at traffic flow and stuff, but I can’t for instance, see how many people follow through email. Or who had my blog to some kind of reader, but that may be the kind of thing that you can’t see, too; I don’t know.

Congratulations, Alex!!! I’ll never forget all the help you so generously offered in getting me started with blogging here on WordPress. I look forward to reading your next 100 posts!

I remember when everyone thought I was nuts for suggesting we needed Facebook author pages and web/blogsites. But, one year later and look at what you’ve done with yours–and you’re such a natural at it, too! I always love reading your stuff!

So awesome that these numbers come together at the same time for you! Nobody else could orchestrate them like that.

    Book? I’d love a book! Hope I win! πŸ˜‰

    • Alex Hurst says:

Thanks so much, Renee’. I was really happy to see a new blog post on your blog the other day, haha. I was about to start poking. πŸ˜‰ Blogs are really important, yes. I’ve been blogging for years though, and this is the first time I actually garnered a following… Guess I’ve found my calling? πŸ˜›

      Good luck in the drawing!
